More about Red Bird: The Mission and its affiliated Clinic have ministered to people in the Appalachian Mountains since 1921. The area is isolated, rural, and distressed, with chronic poverty, lack of jobs, poor housing, and rugged terrain all presenting obstacles. Every year, volunteers from churches across the country provide vital assistance with various Mission projects that help individuals, families, and Mission facilities.
