Nursery Coordinator


Northlawn United Methodist Church is hiring a Nursery Coordinator. The Nursery Coordiator must love Jesus, babies and young children. They should have the energy to care for active young children to tp four-years old.  This position is part-time and requires 2 hours per week, on Sunday mornings during church service. 


Purpose: 

As a representative of Northlawn United Methodist Church who exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, the role of Nursery Coordinator is essential to providing consistent care, establishing trusting relationships, and sharing God’s love with children and families.


Essential Duties:  

The Northlawn Nursery Coordinator is responsible for:

  • scheduling of weekly volunteers (2-3 each week)

  • care of infant through 4 year old children from 9:15-11:15 on Sunday mornings 3-4 times monthly

  • cleaning/organizing/rotating toys in the nursery space

  • refilling snack cupboard (through purchase reimbursement process)

  • collaborating with Family Ministries Director to plan and run nursery activities


Skills/Requirements:

The ideal coordinator has a background with experience in child development and understands the developmental stages and needs of young children.  The nursery coordinator adheres to the child protection policies of the church and supports volunteers to do the same.  The nursery coordinator will communicate effectively with families of children in care and foster the community among both children and families, modeling and redirecting to positive behaviors. A background check is required and provided.
